10K Race/Walk & 5K Race
The inaugural RUN FOR ROSCOR 10K Race/Walk & 5K Race takes place on Saturday June 15th at Shanes Castle, Antrim.
BORN2RUN are delighted to have teamed up with Extern’s ROSCOR Youth Village as our Charity Partners for this event. In it’s 21 years, Roscor has changed the lives of over 40,000 children who have been supported by Extern.
A haven of hope and a place of safety, each year Roscor Youth Village in Belleek, Fermanagh enables over 2,500 vulnerable children to overcome the challenges they face in their daily lives, giving them a life-changing opportunity to discover who they can be. Spending time at Roscor helps the children to build much-needed resilience, and to gain valuable new perspectives on the many challenges facing them, all while having much-needed fun.
Extern will reimburse the entry fee for all runners who register to fundraise a minimum of £50 for Roscor Youth Village and send you a FREE Extern running vest and fundraising pack. You can sign up when registering. (Entry fee reimbursed directly from EXTERN following the event).
The 10K & 5K races will take place entirely within the grounds of Shanes Castle estate which is made up of 1,000 acres of woodland on the shores of Lough Neagh. The estate dates back to the 16th century and runners are guaranteed beautiful views all along the route.
Online Registration (before 11pm on Wednesday 12th June 2019) and for option of posting out race pack (before 11pm Wednesday 5th June 2019).
5K Race (minimum age 11):
£19 Early Bird offer until 11pm on 15/05/19 and £21 thereafter.
£13 Junior Early Bird offer until 11pm on 15/05/19 and £15 thereafter (junior rate applies to runners aged 11-17 years)
10K Race/Walk (minimum age 15):
£13 Junior Early Bird offer until 11pm on 15/05/19 and £15 thereafter (junior rate applies to runners aged 15-17 years)
All distances: (Plus £3 if postal option chosen NI & £4 ROI).
Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from Primo Events after your payment is made. If you choose the option to have your Race Pack posted out to you before the day then this should arrive with you no later than the Wednesday prior to race day. Otherwise your race number and chip timing will be given to you at Registration on the morning of the race. Any Merchandise ordered at time of entry will be available for collection on Race Day at the Merchandise Desk in the Registration Hall. A Final Race Day Information email will be sent to all registered participants on Thursday 13th June 2019, please check your junk mail in case it lands there.
Terms & Conditions
By entering the race you will be bound by the event disclaimer which you agreed to at time of registration. Refunds are not available once entry has been completed. You are however permitted to transfer your entry to a family member/friend by accessing the 'Manage my Registration' portal through the link at the bottom of your Primo Events receipt email. This link and the transfer option will only be available until 23:59 on 5th June 2019. (Transfer of entry to another event is not available). Race Start Times
10K Race/Walk: 11.00am
5K Race: Shortly after the 10K start.
Registration packs can be collected on race day at the gazebo’s close to the Castle where refreshments will also be served after the race, and will be clearly signposted on the day. We will have Race Safety Instructions available in print at Registration for anyone that wishes to read them. They will also be announced at the start line before the race commences.
Saturday 15th June 2019:
10K & 5K: 9.00am – 10.45am
Parking will be in the estate grounds and clearly signposted on race day. Please car share where possible and follow the marshals' instructions.
The start/finish will be close to the Castle and Registration, where the inflatable BORN2RUN arch can be found.
Strictly no pets allowed.
10K: Approx at 5K mark
Toilets are available close to the start/finish line.
Post Race Refreshments
Hydration station at finish line. Complimentary Post Race Refreshments will be served following the race.
Prizegiving – 12 noon
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Finishers in the 10K and 5K Races only. Please note Walkers will not be chip timed.
The course is mainly off road and running shoes are suitable for all the terrain, however if the weather has been particularly wet prior to the race trail shoes may be advisable.
