Tollymore 5K/10K is the 5th race in the Belfast Telegraph Run Forest Run Series and a great New Year challenge to work off the festive treats! The race route takes in panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains and follows the forest path alongside the Shimna River in a gradual ascent past the Hermitage and through the beautiful forest where scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed. (Only a 40 minute drive from Newry).

Event Information

We’ve teamed up with Macmillan NI as our charity partners for the 2019/20 Forest Series. Macmillan provide physical, financial and emotional support to help people with cancer live life as fully as possible. If you wish, you can also support Macmillan NI by making a £1 donation or amount of your choice while entering any of the races online, just tick the appropriate box.

Runners who complete 6 out of 8 races will receive a FREE commemorative Tshirt (new design for this year TBA). CLICK HERE for details. 

If you complete all 8 races you will receive a bonus medal at the race Finale in Castlewellan on Saturday 22nd February 2020.

Entry Fees

Online Registration (before 11pm on Wednesday 1st January 2020) and for option of posting out race pack (before 11pm Wednesday 25h December 2019).

5K & 10K RACE: £22 .

Early Bird offer of £20 if you register before 11pm on Wednesday 4th December 2019.

JUNIOR 5K RACE: £15 (junior rate applies to runners aged 11-17 years)

JUNIOR 10K RACE: £15 (junior rate applies to runners aged 15-17 years)

Junior Early Bird offer of £13 if you register before 11pm on Wednesday 4th December 2019.

(plus £3 if postal option chosen NI & £4 ROI).

Please note PRIMO registration processing fees apply in addition to above and are clearly displayed at poiint of entry.

Registration Confirmation
Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from Primo Events after your payment is made. If you choose the option to have your Race Pack posted out to you before the day then this should arrive with you no later than the Wednesday prior to race day. Otherwise your race number and chip timing will be given to you at Registration on the morning of the race.

Terms & Conditions
By entering the race you will be bound by the event disclaimer which you agreed to at time of registration.  Refunds are not available once entry has been completed. Runners are permitted to transfer entry to a family member/friend if they email Born 2 Run Events with the details prior to the on-line entry closing date. (Transfer of entry to another event is not available). Full Terms & Conditions are available to view at time of entry on the Primo Events Registration website.

Event Registration
Race packs can be collected on the day at the Wooden Pavillion (old cafe building) which is accessed via the Wooden Bridge leading from the Upper Car Park and will be clearly signposted.

Registration Times - Saturday 4th January 2020:  9.00am – 10.30am.

Parking
Free parking for all runners, please car share where possible. Parking for runners will be in the upper car park so please follow Marshal directions.

Start/Finish Area
In the car park close to the Registration building.

Pets
Strictly no pets.

Water Stations
As this is a Winter race there will be no water station so please carry water with you if required.

Toilet Facilities  
Toilet facilities are available in the main car park toilet block and also in the stone educational building adjacent to the upper car park.

Post Race Refreshments
Hydration station at finish line.   Complimentary refreshments will be served in the building where Registration packs are collected, at approximately 12 noon.

Prizegiving – 12 noon.  5K & 10K Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Finishers.  Category Prizes will only be awarded at the end of the Series to runners who completed 6 out of 8 races.  Six quickest race results will be used if more than 6 races completed.  

Footwear
The course is a mixture of tarmac and forest paths. Care should be taken on the forest paths as surfaces uneven. Running shoes/trail shoes (personal choice and dependent on weather conditions) are suitable for all the terrain on the 5K &10K route.
